I almost didn’t write this note. The draft sat in my notebook for a week under the assumption that no one needs to read this.
Then I remembered: every useful thing I’ve learned online came from someone who almost didn’t share it either. The plugin that taught me about transient caching. The Stack Overflow answer with three votes that saved me an evening. The dev who quietly wrote down what worked for them.
That’s the whole game with building in public — most of what you put out won’t matter to anyone. But sometimes the throwaway note, the half-baked gist, the “obvious to me” observation, is the exact thing someone else needed.
It costs me maybe twenty minutes to write a note like this. It might cost someone an evening if I don’t.
So I keep writing. Even when no one’s reading. Especially when no one’s reading — because the few who read it tomorrow weren’t reading today.
The bar is low. Just write down what you figured out this week.
